What Happened To CNY?

As far as I can recall, my family used to have reunion dinners every year. No doubt we started having it the Sunday prior to CNY eve because all of us got married and had to eat with the in-laws in the actual eve. But dinner was a sure thing and we would all gather our chopsticks and basically just pig out and catch up.

Until a few years back when that particular Sunday which we were supposed to have had our reunion dinner coincides with the weekend which that man was going to Batam. Somehow he couldn't go a week earlier or miss a week and just decided to cancel the whole dinner affair with his family here. And hubby was right about one thing then, miss it once and you can forget about having a reunion dinner ever again.

The family never once had a reunion dinner together ever since. Obviously it meant nothing to that man. Maybe he just didn't wanna pay for all the food, maybe he just wants to celebrate it with those over at the Indonesian island or maybe........I dunno. Whatever the reason, doesn't really matter to me anymore.

Anyway, mummy ate with me and my in-laws last year and this year she's eating at my sister's place cos she doesn't really fancy steamboat. So yeah, he can stay home and eat instant noodles on CNY eve for all I care. None of my business. Who knows a few years down the road, we might even stop going home during CNY because he prefers to spend it there too.

This is such a bitter post and even though I just see him once a year now doesn't make me feel less resentful.

Reasons To Be Happy

3 reasons for me to feel happy today:

1) Outstanding emails which requires my action down to less than 30!!!
2) Finishing up the last bit of my CNY grocery shopping tonight. Finally.
3) 2 more days to a long break which I need.

Tattoo Show - 10th January 09

I have been so busy that I don't have time to post this up. Attended the 1st ever tattoo show in Singapore on Saturday with hubby. The show was really really good. Awesome.

I love this!!!

I kept this to the last because it was my favourite. Artist did it without any outline and thus looks very much like a water colour painting. The next piece I am getting it going to be one without outlines too. And I wanna get it in TW!!!

Basically the show was really awesome and it was very very crowded. Didn't expect the turnout to be so good. If they organise it again next year, I am definitely going again.

DIY #13

I love this!!! See the "flower effect"? Not bad liao for my first attempt.

Am going to go get the other colours as well.

Newbie At School

1st Day - Orientation day, maid sat with him in class. No tears.

2nd Day - Teacher had to hold him when the maid left. Cried. When class dismissed earlier than expected, he only saw his Yi Yi and not his auntie. Cried.

3rd Day - First to cry when going into classroom. Affected other kids, one by one started crying after him.

Today - Said bye bye to the maid when she was leaving the classroom and no tears. Though he looked pretty sad when he left the house.

Not bad!!! We had expected him to cry for at least a week!!! Hahaha.....

I feel so trapped. I need a direction. Help.

Hello 2009

As usual, no new year resolutions since I never remember and never achieve them anyway. But I do have some hopes and wishes:

- Economy to pick up real soon so that there will be more opportunities for everyone
- Everyone to stay healthy and safe
- Add more Coach to my collection
- Someone will give me a Wii as a present
- Hope I can start to learn driving (yeah lah, not started yet. shut up.)
- Heng heng when playing MJ
- Soon soon li li at work
- Go Bali/Phuket/Bintan
