Road Trip

What an exciting weekend!!!

Hubby and me drove up to Genting on Saturday and back to Singapore on Sunday afternoon. First time we drove to Malaysia and all the way up to Genting ever since we got the car. Been talking about it for ages but never got down to doing it. This time, we finally managed to do what we had wanted to do for the longest time.

The journey up was smooth and uneventful. Equipped with maps and our limited knowledge of the Malaysia routes, we set off early in the morning at 6.30am from our home. We chose to go by Tuas cos of the expected jam at Woodlands. Stopped by at the petrol kiosk for drinks, newspapers and batteries (for my MP4 FM transmitter) before heading off to the checkpoint. There was a slight jam but we soon cleared both customs and were on our way up North at about 7.45am!!!

We followed the directions up to Genting Highlands once we exited the toll to KL. Everything went smoothly and we arrived at Genting Highlands at about 12.20pm. I am so proud of myself!! Hahaha...... Lucky for hubby to have a wife who knows how to read a map. Makes it easier for us since he can concentrate on driving and me navigating.

The usual activities up in Genting and I saw my brother together with his family there!! What a small world indeed. Oh, and did I mention we couldn't get any rooms up in Genting cos it was fully booked? Yeah, we knew about it even before heading up but we still chose to go and try our luck. Hahaha...... so yeah, we spent a few hours sleeping in the car at the carpark. So exciting lor!!!

Next day, left Genting at about 12.30pm. After getting down from Genting, we missed a turn somewhere and got lost!!! Hahaha..... navigator and driver both have no idea where we were. Alamak!! What did we do?? We continued to drive and try to locate our position on the map but we were OUT of the map lor!! Ok, don't panic, we were pretty calm about the whole thing and just continued to drive. I think we did tour about all the expressways in KL though. We asked for some directions along the way and soon were on the right track towards the north-south highway back home.

Totally enjoyed the road trip and for first timers, we weren't too bad!! Think we'll make a great team for the amazing race............ We're already planning our next trip up liao lor. Anyone else wanna join?

KL/Genting Trip

Yeah yeah, I know this is long overdue. But I had no time lah......

Went to KL and Genting with hubby, Yun Yi and my mama from the 2nd to 4th June. Here goes the pictures....

































For dinner, I had what I came for. Fried Hokkien Noodles, KL style.



Shiok lor I tell you. I have never eaten anything close to what's offered in KL in Singapore. Not even close. I never eat the yellow kind of noodles because I hate the smell and taste of it. But this is sooooo not smelly. The dark sauce and everything else covers that awful taste which I hate and makes it something I crave all the time.

Stayed at a relative's place for the night and the next morning, we were off to bak kut teh breakfast!!! But before we head to the makan place, it's a short stop at the local market for some fried fritters to go with the bak kut teh.

After breakfast it's off to Genting!!! We deposited our lugguage becuase our check in queue number was still along way to go. Mummy went to casino and we brought Yun Yi for the rides in the indoor theme park.























All of us had a great time. Guess the next time we bring Yun Yi here, she'll have her little brother for company liao.

New Hairdo

Did it last week but only managed to post it up now.

Black hair for the first time since more than 10 years ago........... And of course, got a fringe. Ahhh.... I like!!!

Whatever

We brought Yun Yi to the show yesterday. Wasn't as good and enjoyable as the first 2 installments, but well, you'll never know till you watch it isn't it?

Yun Yi just climbed into bed and we've just finished packing our stuff for our little trip tomorrow. Heading to KL by coach with hubby, Yun Yi and my mama tomorrow. Will go up to Genting Highlands from KL on Sunday and head back to Singapore from Genting Highlands on Monday.
