Have been really busy the past 3 months that I almost forgot that I do have a blog that's almost totally forgotten. I even had trouble remembering my login name and password just now. Anyways, yes the past 3 months hasn't been exactly good for me.
Mum suffered a stroke, heart problems, difficulty in breathing and a mega colon problem. Everything happened so quickly and I honestly thought I was going to lose her at one point or another. Everyday after work I would be at the hospital, hoping to her her improving. At times when I couldn't make it, I hoped that she would not be too lonely. 3 months later, countless of talks/phonecalls with the doctors and nurses, I finally got the call last night that informed me she is scheduled to go home on 30th Dec.
Happy? Yes, because she can be home with family and with her grandchildren for company and TV to watch, she will not be so bored and lonely as compared to being in the hospital. Worried? Yes, because she is still not able to stand nor walk and her recovery is really too slow. I am also worried that the maid will not be able to handle her needs. But whatever the case, her being at home is definitely better than staying all alone at the rehab hospital. We can still get help for her rehab at home and sis can help cook for her nutritious and delicious meals everyday (once she gets the ok from the docs to get back to semi/solids). And the fact that she will be happier at home would probably go a long way to her recovery.
Kids have been great and well behaved. Yun Yi did really well for her exams and I am very proud of her. Didi as usual is happy everyday but gets a little naggy before we head to the supermarket. He will tell us that we need to get strawberries, apples, bread, margarine, milk (strawberry and fresh milk, dun want chocolate cos he doesn't like it) and biscuits. He's just worried that we'll run out of food at home.
Celebrated our 11th year wedding anniversary last month and had new rings to signify a new start. The first decade may not have been smooth sailing but I am sure the next and many more to come can only get better!
Got my driving license!! Woo hoo!! After so long, finally am a qualified driver. Failed on my first attempt because I was too damn nervous but made it through on my second attempt. So yeah, not too bad. And yes, my parking sucks. Move on.
Booked a trip to Taiwan in end February to go with hubby. Happy!!! Have been looking forward and saving up for it for a long time. Of course, AWS helps too. This is a long needed break and we are going on free & easy so we're just gonna be relaxed and shop and eat as we like!
Bought a new camera too! Have been wanting to get a good enough one for the longest time but just couldn't bear to part with the few hundred bucks. Finally made up my mind to get it and thus got my new baby, the Canon IXUS 300HS!!! Love it loads! The previous camera is now Yun Yi's to call her own.
Next up will be weddings to attend, CNY and looking forward to a great year next year. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all!!! Muacks.
