Received the below in my inbox today and it's another touching story which touched my heart. By posting it here and sharing it with all of you, I hope it will touch your heart too.
************************************************************************************
It was a busy morning, approximately 8:30 am, when an elderly gentleman in his 80's, arrived to have stitches removed from his thumb. He stated that he was in a hurry as he had an appointment at 9:00 am. I took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour before someone would to able to see him. I saw him looking at his watch and decided, since I was not busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound.
On exam it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors, got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and redress his wound. While taking care of his wound, we began to engage in conversation I asked him if he had a doctor's appointment this morning, as he was in such hurry.
The gentleman told me no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife. I then inquired as to her health. He told me that she had been there for a while and that she was a victim of Alzheimer Disease. As we talked, and I finished dressing his wound, I asked if she would be worried if he was a bit late. He replied that she no longer knew who he was, that she had not recognized him in five years now.
I was surprised, and asked him. "And you still go every morning, even though she doesn't know who you are?" He smiled as he patted my hand and said. "She doesn't know me, but I still know who she is."
I had to hold back tears as he left, I had goose bumps on my arm, and thought, "That is the kind of love I want in my life." True love is neither physical, nor romantic. True love is an acceptance of all that is, has been, will be, and will not be.

Family Day
Made a trip to Sentosa on Saturday for my company's Family Day event. It's been a few years since we last set foot on this very expensive little island.
Yun Yi was really happy we're going to Sentosa cos she'll have a chance to play by the beach once again. See the paper bag in her hands? Her sand playing tools!!!

The oh so familiar bridge connecting the main island to Sentosa. I used to hang out at one of those little shelters with a very close friend of mine during our schooling days. Great memories and great view.
The event is being held at Tanjong beach. An area was actually blocked off for us for the half day.
Free flow of hot dog buns. Mine fell onto the sandy beach after one bite. Duh....

They had this mega bubble courtyard which was really fun!! Once you raise the bubble stick thing, don't even need to wave it around cos the breeze from the sea will start having these bubbles flying all over the place. Awesome. I've always loved playing with bubbles when I was a kid. You know the very traditional pink bottle ones which was sold at mama shops? Now the bubble thing comes in all shapes, sizes, colours and in sticks, tubes and even guns and machines.

And of course, they had this bouncing castle thing which she absolutely loves!! Normally when they have these at the pasar malam fairs, I would usually not let her in cos it's usually filled with really rough kids and I was afraid she'll get hurt. But this time the children were all just playful and mild so it was fine.
Look at hubby's sianz face. That heat is getting into him.
Lunch time!!!! We had this bento set which was pretty delicious and it comes with a bottle of mineral water, mango pudding and a bag of chips. Good treatment yeah?
Now it's off to the beach for some serious sand castle building!!!

These were some of the sandcastles made by my colleagues (but i dunno who!!). We aren't so talented and patient to stick it out under the sun to get it done.
Totally enjoying the sun, sand and sea.
Upcoming is just a series of pictures taken of my little princess.

Superwoman
Early in the morning I put breakfast at your table
and I make sure that your coffee has it's suger and cream
Your eggs are over easy and you toast is lighty
All that's missing is your morning kiss that used to greet me
Now you say the juice is sour, it used to be so sweet
And I can't help but to wonder if you're talking about me
We don't talk the way we used to talk, it's hurting so deep
I've got my pride, I will not cry
But it's making me weak
I'm not your super woman
I'm not the kind of girl that you can let down and think that eveything's ok
Boy, I am only human
This girl needs more than occasional hugs as a token of love from you to me
I find my way through the rush hour, try to make it home just for you
I want to make sure that your dinner will be waiting for you
But when you get there, you just tell me, you're not hungry at all
You said you'd rather read the paper and you don't want to talk
You like to think that I'm just crazy when I say that you've changed
I'm convinced I know the problem, you don't love me the same
You're just going through the motions and you're not being fair
I've got my pride, I will not cry
Still I can't help but care
I'm not your super woman Oh no, no, no
I'm not the kind of girl that you can let down and think that eveything's ok
Boy, I am only human I'm only human
This girl needs more than occasional hugs as a token of love from you to me
Ooh baby, look into the corners of your mind
I'll always be there for you, through good and bad times
But I can't be that super woman that you want me to be
I'll give my ever lasting love if you return love to me
If you feel it in your heart and you understand me,
stop right where you are, everybody sing along with me
I'm the kind of girl that can treat you so sweet,
but you got to realise that you got to be sweeter to me
I need love,I need love, your love

Early in the morning, I put breakfast at your table
you were my super women oh...
安静地在身边无条件给我梦寐以求的温柔
but i am only human hmm..
我怎么不懂你多寂寞
残忍地犯了错
不能失去你 oh baby, oh baby...
You fought your way through the rush hour, tried to make it home just for me
you were my super women oh....
安静地在身边无条件给我梦寐以求的温柔
but i am only human ahhmm...
我怎么不懂你多寂寞残忍地犯了错不能失去你
oh baby~~是我把爱想的太简单
以为只要我存在 就能让你取暖
心里为一的super woman 没有人能代替
不能想象更不能原谅这一段爱化成灰
you were my super women
安静地在身边无条件给我梦寐以求的温柔
but i am only human可是我只是一个只是一个人
我怎么不懂你多寂寞残忍地犯了错不能失去你
if you feel it in your heart and you understand me
stop right where you are everybody sing along with me....

Frog Porridge
Yummy!!!
Was craving this for the past week and when we finally decided to go on Saturday night, we had mahjong session. Of course mahjong took priority!!
So anyway, we went yesterday night to have frog porridge at Geylang Lorong 9.
Plain porridge and 3 frogs cooked in "gong bao" style. $25!!! I finished everything myself because the craving was simply too huge. Hubby had to make do with a small bowl of porridge and one piece of frog. Poor thing.
To make up for his deprivation, we went for durians next.
Wah, this was heavenly. Yellow meat, bitter sweet and only $5 each. Cheap comfort food.

Happy 25th Birthday To Me
Happy birthday!!!! To me lah!!! I turn 25 officially today and I had a really great time.
Went drinking with a few great guy friends yesterday and even had a few shots of tequila and vodka. Wah.... never had shots for the longest time. I remembered that shots used to be the "in" drink about 8 years ago. Now, almost unheard of!!
Just before 12am, the boss of the pub actually served us a cake with candle in tow. Edmund told him it was my birthday and thus the sweet boss went to get a cake for me. 2nd cake for this year. Nice.
I was busy talking to the girlfriend of a guy friend when hubby was happily drinking away with the rest without supervision!!! I usually start nagging when others get him to drink because he's driving remember? Anyway, he drank quite alot at the end of the night and thus we decided not to head home but instead check into a hotel!!!
Yippee..... We have not went to our favourite brand of hotel chain for the longest time. We used to frequent them so much that we lost track of how much money we actually spent on hotel bills. So for the benefit of the many others who have a misconception about the place, here's a peek into the Hotel 81 world.
We went to the Chinatown branch because it was the closest to where we were. The bed.... erm.... I took this picture the morning after so the bed was really messy!! Pai seh to show lah, so only the pillow is featured. Hahaha.....
The humble but clean toilet.
They have shower caps, 2 toothbrushes with toothpaste and a comb. All individually packed to ensure hygiene and enables you to go back home looking and smelling fresh.
LCD TV with cable channels!! No choice, the room is so small that they cannot find a decent spot to put their TVs.
And finally, mineral water, instant cup noodles, 3-in-1 coffee and milo. All complimentary. Of course I brought everything home!!! We paid for those, don't waste mah.
Headed to Chinatown hawker centre for breakfast early today after checking out and headed home to clean up the alter. Went to Bugis to pray cos it's Vesak Day and watched MI-3 (finally). The show was good. Enjoyed it thoroughly and can't wait to catch Poseidon, The Da Vinci Code and of course X-Men III!!!
Shopped around, went for games at Marina South followed by dinner at Changi. I know, no restaurant food. But we had a really late lunch and couldn't really eat during dinner time. By the time we wanted to eat, it was really late for anything decent liao. We made a mental note to have better planning the next time round.
And what did hubby buy for me for my birthday??
He simply took this out from the bottom of his seat when we got onto the car after drinks and starting to head to Hotel 81. I see a box from SK Jewellery, I get excited!!
It's a bracelet!! Expected it from the shape of the box.
Smooth surface, jia lat liao. I have the reputation of scratching everything I have on my hands and wrists. I will try to be careful.
I love it, thank you.

Birthday Eat All You Can Dinner
Went for my birthday celebration dinner with my colleagues yesterday night. And hell yes we did ate all that we could stuff into our stomachs!!! We had only 4 people (3 female and 1 male) and you'll be amazed by the amount of food we ordered and finished.
This restaurant is located at Ulu Pandan at the junction where you turn into Clementi from Holland Road. Called Rong Guang or something similiar. Anyway, food is good and parking is free. Cheap too!!! Now let's do a recap of what we had...........
Their famous BBQ stingray. Black pepper crayfish.
Butter prawns.
The ultra delicious lala.
The only non-spicy dish - stir fried kai lan.
Chilli crabs!!!
And of course the fried man tou to go with it. What is chilli crab without man tous right?
So was that all?? Oh no!!! Hahahaha..... Jo and I didn't feel we had enough so we ordered.......
"Big head" aka "tua tau" and.....
Another plate of the oh so delicious lala!!! Overdose of clams yesterday night. And did I mention they served excellent chinchaluk as well??
And I had my first candle blowing ceremony yesterday as well.
Chocolate cake. What else?? It's my favourite anyway!!
I didn't lie about my age yeah. 25 years old and still counting!! Eeeekkkss!!! We were talking about how many years old before we decide that 1 candle is enough on the cake. And my threshold is 30 years old. So when you start seeing 1 candle my birthday cake, you'll know how old I am liao lah.
Sing song session. Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me, happy birthday happy birthday...... happy birthday to me!!!!
After making a wish..... I huff and I puff and I blew all the many candles out. We actually took the significant making a wish picture. But it didn't turn out great, so skipping that.
The food was very yummy and I had a great time. Thanks guys!!

Idealistic World
What would your perfect man be if you could have him custom made? Some sort of the Stephord Wives Club kind of scenario. What traits would he possess?
I thought about this and came to the following conclusion. Men are never perfect because we ourselves aren't perfect either. And aren't we all drawn to men who are not the Mr. Nice guy? As the saying goes,
But there are certain things which I am definitely drawn to and some characteristics which I simply hate. These are thingswhich I hate and love in a lover but not as a friend ok!!!
I Dislike Men Who:
Are shorter than me
Sports the F4 long hair look
Cannot last longer than I can (go figure)
Cannot park their vehicles well
Abuses women both physically and/or emotionally
Are more vain than I am
Sashays
Wears anything sleeveless
Has any kind of piercings
Are younger than me
Takes me for granted
I Like Men Who:
Has a sense of humour
Are sensitive
Are thoughtful
Shows care and concern
Displays affection
Has initiative
Open minded
Appreciates and treasures me
Can last longer than I can (go figure again)
So here's the million dollar question: "What happens if you happen to be involved with someone who doesn't possessthe traits you are looking for and someone else who does starts knocking on your door?"
You go for it!!! Wahahaha..... just kidding.
I guess love isn't something measured purely by dollars and cents or traits. I mean, any guy on the streets may have everything you're looking for isn't it? But that doesn't mean we have to go fall in love with every one of them.
But I do agree that when a woman isn't happy or satisfied in her relationship and someone else starts showing her what she's missing out, the temptation is strong. Evident in a few of my friend's past and present, this theory has proven to be true time and time again. And this is the same for men isn't it? When they start sleeping with other women, they claim that it's because their wife refuse to do so or they are not satisfied.
The grass is always greener on the other side isn't it? ButI believe in karma, that's why I stand by my rules.

The Green Thumb Or Not
You know, I have been trying my hand at gardening for many times. Not that I actually have a garden to do gardening but more of having some greens at my workspace. IKEA has seen me spend a bomb on plants, flowers and pots. Pink pots nonetheless.
Anyway, after many attempts, I am only left with one survivor. A resilient pot of money plant which survived my moods, dehydration and my absence of 3 months during my maternity leave. Thanks to my colleagues who remembered to water my plant for me during my absence.
Now, I am embarking on a new journey once again!! The very nice IT guy brought me these leafs from his colleague over at Caltex House. I was told that as long as I stick the leafs into soil, it will grow and flower into a full plant!!! So excited!!!
I soaked the 3 leafs in water yesterday because I have got no soil to plant them into my spare pot. I hope they are still holding up well and can procreate.
Oh and I still didn't have any soil this morning. So what did I do?? I went downstairs to my office porch where they had plants growing and started digging!! Wahahahaha..... save $$ lah.
Tada!!! Here's the end product. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will grow and flourish. Otherwise, it's probably fated that I am simply just not good at things like that. Or maybe the air here isn't very good, that's why whatever living things I have will die. Except for my money plant.

25th Birthday Celebration
Had a birthday celebartion with friends last Friday night. Dinner followed by drinks.
We were one difficult group to please in the very busy Billy Bombers at Heeren. Know why it's so crowded?? Because Marche has closed down!!!! Darn!!! Went all the way there to eat Marche and then it's closed??!!! So angry.
Poor Debbie's hand was bitten by a dog and a cat. 2 different incidents on 1 same hand. And you thought your job was hard??
And poor Wendy has a never ending amount of work. And you thought you were hardworking??
There were somemore people at the pub but I didn't take any pictures!!! Forgot all about it and was only busy drinking and drinking. Anyway, thank you all for taking the time out to spend with me. I had a great time.
Oh yes, did you guys notice the little tiara on my head?? Nice leh??
Close up!!! I feel like a princess!!!
Oh and in case you guys are wondering, I am turning 25. I am officially in my mid-20's and that is so damn depressing. And the next step will be late 20's and then the big 30 will be just around the corner!!!!! Eeekkksss...... Freaky.

Fashion Police Going South
You know how all our pants and jeans are getting lower and lower? Gone were the days when jeans hung on our waist. Now, everything is a hipster. But I feel it's more of a groiner rather than a hipster.
Anyway, with jeans getting lower, so are the undies. 15 years back, there's probably nothing like low back, v-back undies and g-strings. But now, I need to decide what to wear the following day so that I make sure I do not need to change undies the next morning just to match my outfit.
Yes, that's what women do for beauty. You wouldn't want to worry about having granny undies peeking out of your jeans when you're sitting down right? Apparently not. Check this out.
Please, once again, I am no pervert. I simply cannot resist takingthis picture while having a pi pi break at MS. Not, if you don't know what pi pi is, you're probably not very close to me cos it's a term I love to use to describe a certain activity. And if you have no idea what MS is, you're probably either not from Singapore or simply very different from the people I hang out with.
Ok ok, I was digressing there. What I wanted to say was, I just cannot understand these people!! I mean, don't you actually do a squat test before heading out? Even if you're deliberately showing what you're wearing underneath, shouldn't it be at least "presentable"?? Not something orange!!! If it's a sexy g-string or a black lacy number, it might have been able to be passed off as sexy. But this? It's just trashy.
Now, enough of criticising for the day. Look what I've got sitting on my table!!!
This litle pink flower simply brightens up my desk. Sweet.

Milestone - First Tooth
Yong Ye's first tooth is out!!! Or rather, 2 at the same time. His bottom teeth are sprouting out and I am glad he didn't experience any fever or runny stools before this. Actually, according to medical records, teething DOES NOT cause the baby to have fever or runny stools. But the older generation believe that some babies do. Well, they probably caught a viral attack from putting everything they lay their hands on into their mouth.

Yes. Feet inclusive!!! My dear son has taken a liking to stuffing his feet into his mouth. Yummy!!
