Naughty Naughty Naughty

Yun Yi kena scolded yesterday. It was one of the rare days where she totally misbehaved and did something really stupid. She was as usual taking a really long time bathing and I was standing outside the bathroom asking her whether she's done. She said yes and she's taking her towel. But her towel is already outside!!! So at that instant, I knew she was lying. I pushed open the bathroom door and there she was squatting down with bubbles all over the floor and her little brother's little blue pail meant for washing his face is also on the floor filled with bubbles!!! Besides that, my hair product meant for adding gloss and shine to my mane is also on the floor with the cap open!! I almost flipped!!! Got a scolding from me and her daddy and was barred from watching TV for the night. Tough punishment for someone who's a huge TV fan!!! Now I finally know why my ody foam and her shampoo is used up so fast these few weeks.

Kids will be kids. They are great at coming up with new tricks and mischief every now and then. But every kid is unique and adorable in their own ways. Just like how Yun Yi ties her pig pig's hair (actaully it's the poor piglet's ears but she said those are pig pig's hair!!) and how Yong Ye sleeps with half his body and his whole head turned to one side at a very weird angle.

Pig pig's hairstyle yesterday.

Pig pig's hairstyle this morning. How can you not love her when she's so innocent and sweet at times?? It would bring a smile to my face just by looking at her new hairstyle for pig pig every day!!

The way my precious son sleeps. And only to one side!! Aiyoh, we so worried that the right side of his head might be flattened due to him only sleeping on one side.

You see lah...... like that sleep comfortable meh?? I also dun understand.

Year End Closure 2005

Went for a spa mani & pedi session with Wendy yesterday at Centrepoint cos I had the discount card thingy which is one-for-one. So we only paid $45 each for the whole session.

Nope, you aren't seeing things cos I really had both my feet painted in 2 different colours. Wanted to be different mah....... but turned out quite nice don't you think?? My hands are of the same colour scheme as well just on opposite sides.

Today is Jennifer & Jee Wong's birthday. Happy birthday guys!!!! What a pleasant surprise to have 2 colleagues sharing the same birthday and our department is so small!!! We are also saying farewell to Nicholas today as he is heading back to the arms of the retail team after helping us out for the past 3 over months. Thank you Nicholas.

We went our for lunch at this restaurant called Ikoi Japanese Restaurant at Miramar Hotel. They serve buffet for both lunch and dinner and each adult is only $30+++ al la cart style. Food is REALLY good. I mean good food, wide variety and pretty cheap. They serve sashimi free flow as well and their sashimi is really fresh and tastes awesome!!! I had like 20 shishamo fishes, probably 10 over slices of salmon sashimi and loads of tempura prawns. Yummy!!! But do call to make reservations though cos this place is packed with their loyal customers. Lunch time is short though starting from 12pm and last order is at 2pm. Definitely going back there again soon. Anyone wanna go with me cos hubby doesn't like Japanese food.

Self entertaining in the taxi on the way downtown.

With the birthday woman. No more girl liao lah....... girl is me!!!! Happy birthday!!

Smile, you're on candid camera!!! Jo caught Jee Wong on the camera while his mouth is filled with green tea. This is my boss lah..... and also the birthday man today. Yep, no more boy cos old man liao. Happy birthday!!!

Me and Jo. Very camera loving!!! Anytime ready for a pose.

Self indulging. We luuurrrveeee ourselves sooo much that we can't stop clicking!!!

With Nicholas leaving us, Jee Wong will be the only man left in Merchandising. Take care bro cos it ain't going to be easy having us around. Better get your ear plugs ready!!!

I had a few new year resolutions at the beginning of this year. Namely the following in no particular order:
1) To lose weight
2) To get pregnant
3) To start learning how to drive
4) To complete my Diploma programme without failing

Now at the end of the year, let's see how I have fared.
1) Failed cos I got pregnant and I can't possibly go on a diet when I am preggie right??
2) Success!!! Got pregnant and gave birth to a healthy and cute baby boy!!
3) Ermmm...... about to get started when I got pregnant so hubby said not safe to learn to drive with a bulging stomach. Hee hee..... next!!
4) Completed with flying colours!!!

So not too bad eh?? Managed to keep to 2 of my new year resolutions out of 4 and the other 2 put on hold because of my pregnancy. Not bad at all...... proud of myself!! Hahaha......

Ok, now getting serious liao. 2005 has been a pretty smooth, rewarding and fulfilling year for me. I am thankful for all that has happened. Managed to expand the family, move into a bigger house, had a smooth pregnancy and delivery, got a pretty alright maid which doesn't behave like a psycho, bought a car (though technically it doesn't belong to me cos hubby bought it!!! But what's his is mine mah!!! Just wait till I get my driving licence!!) and rediscovered the significance of a marriage. I am thankful for all that happened.

Now it's time to think of my new year resolution for 2006 and I am sure the diet thing will still be part of it but before we get to that, let's party away while we welcome the new year!!!!

What's Your True Colour??

Very accurate for me. Why don't you all try it and tell me what's your colour?? I am a brown......

What's Your True Colour???

You're brown, a credible, stable color that's reminiscent of fine wood, rich leather, and wistful melancholy. Most likely, you're a logical, practical person ruled more by your head than your heart. With your inquisitive mind and insatiable curiosity, you're probably a great problem solver. And you always gather all of the facts before coming to a timely, informed decision. Easily intrigued, you're constantly finding new ways to challenge your mind, whether it's by reading the newspaper, playing a trivia game, or composing a piece of music. Brown is an impartial, neutral color, which means you tend to see the difference between fact and opinion easily and are open to many points of view. Trustworthy and steady, you really are a brown at heart.

Milk Expresso

Yes, you read correctly and the above picture is the milk expresso thingy.

This machine is actually a programmed formula mixer!! It mixes milk powder and water instantly and consistently in the right temperature for feeding. This is a godsend for night feeds when you can barely keep your eyes open. It also sterilizes milk bottles. And it's not very expensive either considering a normal sterilizer would cost you about $100 already.

I just think that this is an amazing invention and yes, it's patented. So if you're thinking of producing something similiar at a lower price, forget it.

Library Trip

Today is a memorable day indeed because I made a trip to the library after many many donkey years. The last time I stepped into a library was probably about 10 years ago when I was doing some research on some project I was working on. So you can imagine how excited I was!!!

After lunch at Causeway Point with sis and the three little pigs, we proceeded excitedly to the library at Woodlands Civic Centre. Of course as usual, I was distracted by the many stores around and ended up buying stuff (no, I did not buy any bags!! I made a promise earlier remember??) even before I reached the library..........

Bought 5 pairs of earings and a necklace. Nice or not?? I know I am going BKK soon and these things are probably very cheap there but I simply couldn't resist them. Anyway quite cheap lah, only $2 for a pair of earings and the necklace only $6. I once saw something like that (the necklace) at Suntec that costs $18!! The sales person say it's fish scales from some exotic country!! Wahahahaha....stupid!!

Ok, back to library. Wah, libraries these days are far from what I remember. I used to frequent the Queenstown library as it was closest to me and I remember it as dark and rundown filled with students hiding behind the tall tall shelves with their girlfriends/boyfriends. Now the library is so clean, bright and cheerful!!! Modern interior designs filled with comfy chairs and tables for our reading pleasure.

Yun Yi's yi yi patiently reading to her.

Nice wall drawing in the safari themed section for pre-schoolers.

Huge tree and carpet for kids to sit and read at their own leisurely pace.

They even have storytelling sessions. Will probably bring Yun Yi for their storytelling sessions soon. But must queue up for take tickets one leh cos every session only limit to 40 children. Singapore everything also must queue up!!!

I wanted to take more pretty pictures of the place but I saw the sign that says no photography allowed after I took the above pictures!! Ooops..... sorry.........

Borrowed a few children storybooks for Yun Yi and I myself also borrowed 3 books leh!!!

Interesting book that guides you through your baby's first year week by week. Will probably get my maid to read it as well!!!

Hahaha...... Yes, that's HTML for Dummies. I want to learn mah and buying a similiar book would have cost me about $40 bucks!! But I not very confident of learning just by reading. But I'll try nevertheless!!!

Another HTML book with more pictures. Maybe it's easier to understand by looking at drawings??

After the library, Yun Yi said she's hungry!!! Kena scolded by me cos she didn't finish half of her chickn rice this afternoon and now 2 hours later tells me she's hungry!!!

So here we are at Ya Kun having very expensive toast bread, eggs and milo.

Promised to bring Yun Yi to pasar malam tonight after my PC is delivered and if it deosn't rain. Now sky dark dark liao..........

Boxing Day 2005

It's been a year since the tsunami hit the Indian Ocean on December 26 in 2004, and changed the destinies of thousands of people. It all began with an earthquake off the western coast of northern Sumatra, Indonesia. Measuring an unbelievable 9 points on the Richter scale, it was one of the largest earthquakes ever to be recorded. Scientists later said that the earthquake itself lasted close to ten minutes when most major earthquakes are no more than a few seconds. It caused the entire planet to vibrate at least a few centimetres. But the worst was yet to come.

The earthquake caused the seabed to rise vertically by several metres, displacing massive volumes of water. The turmoil in the ocean took the form of a killer tsunami that devastated the coastlines of Indonesia, Thailand, Sri Lanka and South India. It was nature in its most raw and ferocious form, the single worst tsunami in mankind's recorded history. As of February 22 in 2005, government agencies and the United Nations said the death toll stood at 169,752 with 127,294 people listed as missing and most probably dead as well.

Let us all take a moment to to say a silent prayer to all that lost their lives to the waves and may those they left behind find peace and closure to this terrible episode. Though life will never be the same again for all affected as the waves had taken away a part of their lives and that part would never be returned.

Christmas Day 2005

Merry Christmas!!!!!

Did Santa visit you and left a present in your stockings?? No??? Then you haven't been a good kid for the past year.

Sounds familiar eh? That's what parent tell their children when they forgot to buy pressies for them!! I remember I used to receive cash in my stockings when I was a little girl. Well, almost a little girl. I was old enough to know that Santa Claus doesn't exist and my parents had no time to shop for gifts thus the cash. Now Yun Yi already knows Santa Claus is her daddy and mummy and no, I am no teaching her to hang up her stockings in anticipation for a gift.

Ok, no more time for further yakking cos playing mahjong later. Have a merry merry christmas and a happy new year!!! Cheers!!!

Christmas Eve 2005

Happy Yun Yi waiting for the lift. We going gai gai lor!!!

Met mama for brunch with hubby and Yun Yi at Allson Hotel for dim sum. Yummy food and they are having 50% discount so worth it. Afterwhich, we went to Chan Brothers to book our trip to Bangkok. Can you believe they told us they cannot confirm our choice of hotel on the spot and only after a few days? We had to give them 3 choices of hotels and the final price will be revised upon confirmation. No wonder no one goes to these tour agencies anymore for Bangkok tours because it's cheaper to book everything yourself online and faster as well. If not for the fact that I have a voucher from Chan Brothers I wouldn't even have considered using them. Anyway, grumbles aside, we are going to Bangkok from 13th to 15th January 2006!!!

We proceeded to Parkway Parade for very delicious ice-cream!!! There is this Scoopz ice-cream shop at basement that sells very delicious ice-cream. My favourite is of course chembudak and durian flavour. But unfortunately, they didn't have chembudak flavour today because the fruit is not in season. Dissapointed!!!

My little artist wants to do the squeezy thingy again. $5 fly away........

Colour tray.

Steady hands at work.

The final product!!!

Sleepy head zzzzzZZZZZZzzzzzZZZZZZ

Am going out partying with Lena and the guys tonight. Chiao!!!

Christmas Lunch

I know, how can I have a X'mas lunch when it's not even X'mas Day?? Well....... it's a lunch organised to count our blessings for the year and to celebrate Christmas mah, so called X'mas lunch lor!! Our company will have a X'mas lunch organised every year for HQ staff as well as all the station managers. This year also the same lah, but due to budget constraints this year held at Quality Hotel. Where is this Quality Hotel?? Errrmmmm.... almost all of us asked this question as well. It's located at Balestier Road next to the CDC (Communicable Disease Centre) lah. And no, it's not some dodgy cheapskate hotel like those you find at Geylang. Actually quite class for such a lesser known hotel like this.

As usual, the food was good and company was great. They served great tandoori chicken and I was so busy eating that I forgot to take a picture of the food. Had a great time catching up with all my colleagues considering it's been about 2 months since I last saw them.

We got this swiss army knife thingy or whatever it's called as a door gift. You know, it opens up into many different "arms" for different purposes such as for opening and cutting etc. I know the picture would look much clearer and better when the "arms" are open. But my nails would be gone by the time I get it opened!!

We had games as well as some prize giving for some of the top stations in various categories for 2005. Of course the best liked part was the lucky draw session. Nothing for me lah.......so nothing to talk about!! We ended the lunch session with gift exchange!! The traditional method of picking a number and matching it to the gift was used and I got a really cool pressie!!

I got his small "vintage radio" designed radio!!! It must have been one of the best gifts around judging from what the others got. One colleague of mine even got this Nivea gift set meant for men!!! Alamak!! Don't these people realise that a female might have gotten the pressie?? Buy something unisex mah.

Oh yeah, I also got a box of Sins chocolates from a supplier. So nice of them to remember me even though I am on leave. Look, they even had their company logo printed onto the chocolate!! The things these merchants do to attract business is amazing. But pretty cool though.

Oh look!!! My son can sit up liao!!! Hee hee....... Just kidding lah. You all really think he's a genius ah?? I just propped him against the corner of my sofa and there he is sitting comfortably with his back supported. But he obviously looks pretty annoyed with all that flashing of the camera at him. So I decided to spice things up a little.

Yes I know I got nothing better to do than to make my dear son pose with a handkerchief on his head. But hey, his sister had a similar picture as well, so must be fair mah!!!

Ok lah ok lah, enough posing for today. Mummy sayang.........and one last shot!!!

Winter Solstice Festival

Today, the Chinese celebrate Dong Zhi or the Winter Solstice Festival, marking “the arrival of winter”.

The name of the traditional dessert tang yuan carries much meaning for the Chinese as it sounds like tuan yuan (reunion).
Yuan, which means “round” or “a circle”, is also an auspicious word that suggests yuan man (perfection).

In the Chinese calendar, the festival falls six weeks before Chinese New Year. A popular expression among the older Chinese to refer to the end of a year and the coming of the next one is: “Chi tang yuan, da yi nian (Eat tang yuan and grow older by a year).”

Bought the ready made tang yuan from the supermarket and had it for dessert after dinner. Bought 2 packets but we barely finished half. Why buy so much then?? Because I couldn't decide between black sesame and peanut so buy both lor!!

Anything that resembles a ball must be eaten in pairs or even numbers. Like that then equal mah!!!

Wah.... Look at the peanut and the black sesame oozing out from the tang yuan!!! Yummy!!

I am getting good at this cooking thing. Not only does hubby have dinner at home, he even gets to enjoy dessert now!! Someone should remind him how lucky and fortunate he is.

Men With Boobs

Read from a local magazine that "man boobs" are actually known as "chesticles". Wahahahaha.... they actually have a proper name for it!! I am not talking about hard like steel muscled chests but instead big, wobbly and soft chests on men.

According to the article, these are saggy reminders of either his days as a gym junkie (yes muscles will turn into fats and I can't wait for the day Madonna's muscles turn all into fats!!! Wahahahaah!!) with rock hard pecs, the fact that his metabolism ain't what it used to be or that he's eating way too much chicken.

Ooops...hold on a second....did I read eating too much chicken?? Oh hell yes!! Chicken is often packed with oestrogens that bring on those B-cups. And not the attractive kind.

Now I finally know!!! I used to have a male colleague (no names mentioned here cos I dun wanna be sued though everyone who is working with me should know who I am talking about here) who I am almost sure that he's gay. But anyway, he had boobs of at least a B-cup!! Enough to make some female colleagues with a humble A-cup to feel inferior. He loved to eat chickens and couldn't live a day without it. Sounds like me?? Yeah lah.....that's probably the only similarity we share and it's so unfortunate. Those chickens are probably the reason to his wobbly bits on his chest. He likes to wear those tight fitting polo shirts and white colour somemore!!! Alamak *faint*!!! Thank god he's no longer around in the office to spoil the atmosphere of the whole office by his foul presence.

So girls.....now you know what to order the next time you eat out. Chickens!!!! On the other hand, maybe it's time I start cutting down on chickens.

So Damn Crowded Orchard Road

Wah lao..... went to Orchard Road today with Yun Yi with the intention of spending my $100 Taka vouchers as well as have lunch at the much talked about Food Republic food court at Wisma Atria.

Clever me reached there at the peak of the lunch hour crowd therefore we spent almost half an hour trying to get a seat!! The place was pretty huge with quite alot of food selection from many famous stalls. After buying laksa for Yun Yi, I decided to join the longest queue in the whole foodcourt to buy fried hokkien noodles. After a long long wait of about 20 minutes, I finaly got my noodles.

looks good eh?? Very expensive ah!!! $4 minimum and this is all you get!! But not bad lah, it tastes pretty good and the chillie quite spicy. By the time I returned to my seat, Yun Yi finishing her laksa liao lor.

We made our way to Taka after lunch and I tell you.......it was soooo damn crowded. There were crowds everywhere and most of the shops were filled with people browsing and buying. All these people no need to work ah?? It's a Monday afternoon where shopping malls are supposedly most quiet. I am guessing it's alot of last minute shopping for X'mas.

I bought a pressie for my company's gift exchange session this Friday from Taka's talking hall. So crowded there as well. Those people all like me buying gifts for colleagues and gift exchange sessions. Lots of choices for gifts under $10 (we were told to buy gifts less than $10 mah, not I cheapskate ok!!??) but I had a hard time deciding because the gift had to be suitable for both sexes mah.

And what did I buy for myself??

A white Baby-G watch!!! It actually also comes in a really sweet shade of pink but somehow I felt that white looks more outstanding. Only $118 and after deducting the $100 vouchers, only need to top up $18.

While making my way back, was attracted by the roadshow for the magazines Singapore Women's Weekly, CLEO and Harpers Bazaar. They are offering 30% discount for a one year subscription PLUS many many free gifts!!! I signed up for both Singapore Women's Weekly and CLEO since I am buying it every month anyway. The gifts are quite good leh........go get it soon if you all buy these titles regularly. It's at Orchard MRT and you'll see it while walking towards Wisma Atria.

In the midst of signing up, I met Lena!!! Wah.... world really very very small leh. We can even meet each other at such a crowded place on a Monday afternoon during office hours!!! Hahahaha..... really alot of people no need to work lor. We took the train back to her place together cos it was early anyway and girl girl wanted to go see her dogs (no grammer error here, she has 2 dogs at home).

See how happy she was posing with one of the dogs. All along wanted to have a dog of my own, but since we have laminate flooring in our new place I think very difficult liao lah.

Good Old OG

Went to meet mama at Red Star for dim sum together with sis and nieces. Ate very little because the guilt from last night's dinner was still very strong!!

After which we went to OG, the one at Chinatown which used to sell many auntie stuff. But the OG today very different liao leh!! Well..... they do still sell some auntie clothings but the overall concept and merchandise has gone through a revamp.

Managed to get this Playskool gym thingy for Yong Ye at am offer price. Something to keep him occupied during his awake times.

And girl girl was getting jealous that I am buying a toy for her little brother and not her. So I bought her this carebear. It's name is called Love-A-Lot bear chosen by herself.

Of course, how could I leave without buying anything for myself??? So I got this........

A pink cheena halter top for CNY!!!! Pretty or not?? I love it very very much. Looks great with denim. Showed huby when he got home and guess what was his comment?? He said "You are mother of 2 liao still wear a top with such a big hole!!??". Wahahaha.... so funny. Mother of 2 cannot wear like that meh??

In the afternoon, Debbie and Lena came over to my place. For what ah?? See Yong Ye lor, otherwise you think visit me meh??

See Yong Ye shiok shiok got pretty jie jie carry.

Hmmmmm.... Yong Ye clenching his fist is normal cos he's still an infant. But why this jie jie also clenching her fist ah?? Oh.... I know liao, they playing scissors paper stone lah. Like that jie jie sure win mah cos Yong Ye only know how to show stone. Not fair!!!

Chong Qing Steamboat

Finally went for my long craved dinner of steamboat!!! Met Wendy after work to eat our hearts out at the Suntec branch. I very good girl leh cos I took a train to town and not a taxi!!! I am so proud of myself.

When on the train........Fashion police alert!!! I saw this guy who was wearing his jeans on his bum!!! It looked really awful. What the hell was he thinking anyway?? Trying too hard to have an attitude.

Now back to the steamboat buffet. I simply luurrve the spiciness and the very delicious peanut sauce with saseme oil. And they serve really nice luncheon meat which tastes amazingly good though it's just a cheapskate canned food. Yes I know I am supposed to be on a diet but I starved myself the whole day just to feel less guilty for this buffet dinner!!

Parental Involvement

"Alexander Hamilton and Abraham Lincoln grew up without much parental involvement. But the same was true of Saddam Hussein and Adolf Hitler." - Dr Phil McGraw, author of Family First

Came across the above quote in a magazine which made me ponder over it for a moment. Is parental involvement crucial in moulding a child's life?

Personally, my parents weren't too involved during my growing up years. Frankly, I do not have alot of happy memories that revolves around zoo outings and chocolate ice-cream. The only thing I remember about all the interactions I had with my dad was just to remind him to give me my weekly allowance. Nothing more than that. As for my mum, she was definitely more involved because throughout my primary and secondary school days, there isn't one year where she wasn't called to school to meet my teacher/principal because of something that I had done or didn't do. But they had me on tight reigns though. No going out with friends at all and let alone staying out late. But what happened?? I still got myself pregnant and married at the age of 18. So much for trying to control my life.

Another friend of mine has a control freak dad too. Yes, they kept her in check during her teenage years but she has grown up since. Did they achieve what they wanted?? I would say no because she's definitely not leading the kind of life they had expected her to.

Another friend of mine has a really loving set of parents. Until today, her mum will wait up for her no matter how late she comes back. Not to ask her why she's so late or where she has been but just to make sure she home safe and sound. She speaks to her parents at least once on the phone when she's working.

So I guess there's always 2 sides to a coin. Pull the string too tight, it might break. Let it go too loose, the kite might just fly away.

I believe we shouldn't restrict our children in everything. Let them try and explore but bring them up with the right morals and attitude to handle difficult situations which life might bring to them in future. Don't try to tell them not to engage in pre-marital sex because frankly we know it's not going stop them. But instead tell them the facts about STDs, AIDS and unwanted pregnancies. Teach them to always take necessary precautions.

I believe children need to learn and be able to stand up on their own should they fall. Afterall, they are going to leave the nest in 20 years time or even less. So I will try to bring up my kids with loads of love. When they grow up they will be filled with lots and lots of happy memories with us. Control not with fear but with respect. But all is easier said than done. We just try our best to be good parents and the rest is really up to them.

Ok.......enough of the serious stuff!!!! Went on a photo taking spree just now when Yun Yi was watching Hi-5 and Yong Ye was just lazing around on the bed while the maid was preparing dinner. Isn't he cute??? Hahahaha....where got mummy say her own son cute one hor?? Then you all leave comments to tell me that lah!!!

Yun Yi is going to get really jealous when she sees the number of photos we have of her little brother compared to her. But digital cameras weren't cheap and popular yet when she was a baby!!! So really can't blame us lor. But a first born is always privilaged because she had our undivided attention for 5 whole years!!! This is something her brother will never get to enjoy.

Bad Dream

I had a really really bad dream yesterday night. Made me feel like shit today.

I dreamt that hubby had an affair with a really young girl. And the worst part?? She's pregnant. There were heaps of tears and lots of talking in the dream. But no shouting from either one of us. Not my syle. Sounds familiar to some of you probably because it did happen to someone I know except the bitch isn't pregnant.

The dream felt so real it was scary. My heart was practically aching when I woke up. I felt a sense of loss and sadness swept over me. The pain was intense and deep. I was thankful that it was just a dream and not reality.

Suddenly made me think what would I do if it really did happen to me. Would I have reacted the way I did in my dream?? Yes, it would have been close. I didn't make a big fuss when I found out but talked rationally with hubby. There would have been lots of tears though because the hurt would have been deep. I walked out in my dreams with the 2 kids and that would be what I would have done in reality.

Calm and collected. Sad and dissapointed. The dream hit me hard in the face because it made me feel that anything could happen to anyone. Though I find it hard to belief that hubby would actually do something like this to me, but then again, so did many other women who's husband had strayed.

Actually had a similiar conversation with hubby over coffee at NYDC on Sunday while Yun Yi was digging into her very delicious brownie. I was questioning why would anyone hurt their spouse (note that I did not say wife because I belief it will happen to both sexes in this modern world) in such a way and yet claim that they love their spouse deeply after that?? Does it mean that the love wasn't there when you decided to declare your love for the other man/woman? Does it mean that the love wasn't there when you decided to introduce your manhood/womanhood to a new friend? And then all of a sudden when you're caught or when your spouse decides that he/she has had enough of your nonsense, the so called love you had for him/her comes flooding back!!!

This is total bullshit. Whatever that's lacking in the marriage doesn't give a good excuse for you to go out and search for it somewhere else. There is a saying which me and hubby believe strongly in.

"Do unto the others as you would have them do unto you".

Anyway, we both share the same view on this. There will be no forgiveness and the marriage will be over if anyone of us strays. That includes both sleeping with someone you don't love or loving someone you didn't sleep with. I guess the worst is sleeping with someone he/she loves and the person isn't in question is not you. But it would not have made a difference because there is no exclusion list here.

Oh btw, the picture of the paper heart was taken from Jo's Blog in her "my paper heart" entry. I was simply not in a mood to go search for a suitable picture. Thanks Jo.

Bags Galore

Oh how I love buying bags!! I have mentioned this before?? Well, then I am going to say this again anyway cos I LOVE BAGS!!! Women either love buying shoes or bags, don't you agree? I am not much of a shoes lady cos I ONLY have 18 pairs of shoes including slippers. But I probably have twice as many bags or maybe slightly more. That is honestly not alot........so I decided to add more to my already bursting cupboard full of bags.

See?? It doesn't look that many isn't it?? Not yet even reached the top of the cupboard.

Yes, I know it looks abit like those auntie sarong cloths from this picture. But when slung sideways, it looks very nice leh!!!

This was the one I saw at Charles & Keith branch and Wisma the other day. Actually went to the Suntec branch to get it on Sunday but the brown colour one sold out liao!!! Finally got it at Causeway Point this afternoon.

Then my roving eyes saw this white handbag. Couldn't resist it and now it belongs to me!!!

Ok ok......I am hereby telling everyone that I shall not buy another bag until I get to Bangkok. Planning to go sometime in mid January cos hubby is busy with work so can't go earlier. Will go shop for more 199 baht bags when I am there!! Yippeee...!!

Good Old Times

Made a trip down to Orchard Road yesterday to jalan jalan before my appointment that evening. It's amazing how crowded it was on a Friday afternoon!! Don't these people need to work?? I know it's the school holidays but not all were students loitering around the malls. Anyway, most of these people were busy getting pressies for Christmas.

Judging from the wide selection of toys on sale at the Taka Square and the number of people actuallly buying, I would say the children are definitely the ones benefiting the most from this festive season. Christmas has become so popular and commercialised that it has lost much of its religious significance. I mean, even non Christians are celebrating and giving pressies to each other probably without even knowing the story or significance of Christmas day itself.

Just as I was walking aimlessly around Ngee Ann City yesterday, I realised something.

The decor at Ngee Ann City for Christmas hasn't changed for many many years!!! Since my days when I was working in one of the offices there till now, the red flowers and the gigantic Christmas tree is still the same. Wah lao...... damn sian lor.

I fell in love with a bag I saw at Charles & Keith yesterday but becos I was going for drinks at night, I decided not to to buy it then. But I still bought something though and I am going to get my hands on that bag soon.

A pouch/carrying case for my digital camera!!! Soooo sweet hor?? And yes, it's in PINK with crystal (lookalike) studs forming 2 hearts. It's actually a mobile phone case, but it's made of stratchable material so my camera fits in nicely too.

Finally time to proceed to Boat Quay as I was meeting 2 of my girlfriends for dinner before the drinking session. Was kind of early so snapped some pics of the beautiful scenary there.

It's been AGES since I went to Boat Quay and since I am always there after sunset previously, never really realised that the view is so beautiful during the daytime as well.

We went for dinner at Superbowl. View was great and they serve great chinese tea but food was terrible. Will never ever go back there again. Anyway, while waiting for our food, me and Lena decided to look pretty for the lens.

See the brilliant red streaks on my head?? Chio right??

Finally the group got together for some get together bonding time over drinks and we were busy snapping away and irritating the other customers with our super duper bright flashes!!

The six beauties fall in for a group shot. 3 mummies in the group with 6 kids between them. 2 single and very available babes and 1 single but attached lady. This information is true and accurate at this time when this entry is being uploaded. Status subject to volatile changes.

Snap snap snap....... We are seeing stars after taking these pictures. My flash is so bright!!!! I love it!!!

2 new hairdo. 2 very broke women. Sigh...... remind me never to step into a salon together with this woman again.

One with the guys of course. There were actually more men around but somehow didn't manage to catch them on camera. Will do so the next time round.

The damage. Countless jugs of beer and 2 bottles of Chivas.

The once upon a time bartender. Look how pro he is!!!!

I know this pic looks weird to be appearing in the middle of this entry. But I had to show this. This is Debbie's bag. She has tons and tons of things in her very very big bag. And no, she's not planning a weekend getaway to JB. Why would anyone carry so many things out?? I have no idea. Neither does she.

And finally....... one of the rare occasions where I took a picture with hubby!!!! One more to the album. Yipee!! Aren't we the perfect couple??

My Heart Will Go On

Am suffering from heartache. Spent so damn much money the past 2 days that my heart is still bleeding. Will stop buying or doing anything to myself liao.

On Wednesday, went out with Yun Yi to redeem the voice enabled cable modem at Killiney Road. Applied for a home line as well since it's free subscription as I am a maxonline customer. Anyway, we had lunch at the Killiney Coffeshop that sells the famous tost bread.

Yun Yi finished the 2 half boiled eggs, half a bowl of mee siam and half of the bread!!! Great appetitie she has isn't it?? So stop telling me I am not feeding her enough cos she is eating alot liao!!

We proceeded to Plaza Singapura after lunch cos I needed to change my cable set-up box to a digital one. Since no additional charge to my monthly bill, why not?? After all i completed all the errands which I set out to do, we went for a show.

Yes, I went to watch the plotless and brainless cartoon. Well, what did you expect?? I was with a 5 year old!! But in all fairness, the show was pretty entertaining. Funny lor...... not a bad show to watch if you've time and money to kill. But frankly, I enjoyed Harry Potter and The Goblet Of Fire a gazilion times more than Chicken Little.

After the movie and a sinful serving of nachos with extra cheese later, we went jalan jalan while waiting for hubby to come pick us up. Jalan jalan will equate to spending money!! Bought a few pieces of clothinng from Dorothy Perkins cos they were having sales.

On the way to Carrefour.

Saw this Christmas tree on display and girl girl couldn't resist taking a picture with it.

And look, I went to wrap the protective "skin" onto my phone. Swee bo??? Yes, it's pink flowers. That shouldn't surprise you right?? Aye, not cheap hor..... $38 leh. Told hubby the price and he gave me his usual reaction. Shook his head. He broke his sunglasses a few weeks ago and saw one that he liked the other day that costs $30++ and he felt that it was too expensive so didn't buy. Made me feel so guilty that I spent the same amount on a piece of clothing for my phone!! But of course, the sense of guilt didn't last too long.........

Girl girl met her old fried Ronald MacDonald's while waiting for daddy. One shot for the photo album. Look how happy they are to have met each other.

After a long day of shopping, Yun Yi fell asleep in the car on the way back home. Yes, while still holding on the the new Barbie water bottle that I bought for her.

Ok..... that was the entry for Wednesday. Now we go on to Thursday.

Met por por for lunch at Suntec City and I went to La Senza to see see look look before por por arrived. Bought some really pretty intimates that has a G in the name of the cut. And one very sexy piece if lingerie. No, I am not going to post the pictures here cos it's for hubby's eyes only!!! But I am going to share with you another one of my purchase from La Senza......

Edible chocolate sauce for body painting!!!! Yummy!! It even comes with the paint brush!! Please..... don't ask me what is it meant for cos you should know. And no, I am not telling you all who is going to do the painting and who's gonna eat it. Hmmmm....... new lingerie and edible chocolate sauce?? I think the upcoming week will be a fun one.

Met one of my girlfriend later in the afternoon to go do our hair. She wanted a makeover, so I was just supposede to accompany her. We finally decided on going to the Heatwave by Monsoon salon at Marina Square. My initial intention was to just get a cut but I ended up rebonding and colouring my hair!!!!

I settled for a dark base colour becos it's supposed to make my hair look healthier (and yes it indeed does) with red highlights. Can you see the red streaks on my hair?? Yes, it's red again. What to do?? I am not suited to have brown or blond colours on my head as it makes me look really pale. Just don't ask me how much it costs.... I dun want to be reminded again. But I can tell you, it was worth every single penny. Worth going to this salon if you're keen on a makeover for your hair.

Outing To Chinatown

Was "summoned" by mum to go to Chinatown with sis and the kids. She wants to buy CNY clothes for the girls wor. A little too early lah but she say want to buy, so better be quick!!!

Decided to bring Yong Ye along as well since he was wide awake when I was about to leave the house. Felt quite bad that I went out the last 2 days without him so I brought him along and left the maid at home. There he was snuggled in my sling while on the taxi. Was looking at the bright sky and fast moving trees (or so I think!!) through the window. Ain't he handsome?? Men (or boy in this case) look really handsome and alluring when they are deep in thoughts. But in this case, it's probably just daydreaming!!

The girls sitting in the taxi getting quite bored from the long ride to town.

We shopped through the many shops in the Chinatown market to get clothes for them which they like. You know as kids get older, they want to have a say in what they want to wear. They will tell you directly if they like or do not like a particular piece of clothing. Well, it makes things a little more difficult because they may not share the same sense of fashion as us. What if they refuse to wear the really sweet dress you bought and insist of wanting to buy a really hideous combination of top and skirt?? So at this point, it's best that you actually bring them along to do the shopping to avoid such conflicts.

Had an easy time getting clothes for Yun Yi though I am not sure if I will actually let her wear those for CNY itself. Sister's elder daughter is more of a headache. She is at this age (7 years old) and size (she is rather big for her age) where buying clothes is really a challenge. Clothes that's suitable for kids might not have her size and those that she can fit in may be too matured for her. Sigh..... but thankfully we still managed to get her a few pieces a the end of the day. As for sister's younger girl, she is the bo chup one and didn't want anything!!! Ended up deciding for her a floral dress which her elder sis bought as well.

Started to rain heavily just as we were done with the shopping and we proceeded to have durians!!! Might as well mah, since it was raining so heavily we couldn't leave anyway. Great and cheap durians we had!! Mum chose the $2 ones and we had 5 among the few of us. Small and cheap durians but they were delicious. Yummy.

That's the loot Yun Yi came home with. Not very suitable for CNY right?? Except for the dress on the extreme left, the rest are more for day to day wear.

Did I mention that we bought a sarong stand for Yong Ye yesterday?? Yes, we finally did and I tried it out on him today.

He looks pretty comfy isn't it?? Will leave this in the maid's room and if I were to come back late or not come back at all, Yong Ye will sleep in the sarong with her in her room. Will probably continue to leave the cot in my room for the time being as I want him to sleep with me most of the nights. Only problem is I hate to disrupt hubby's sleep when Yong Ye cries loud enough to wake him up in the middle of the night. So will have to make sure I respond fast enough before he starts screaming his lungs away.

Oh yes, for those of you who are observant enough to notice, the sarong is in PINK!!! Not my preferred choice though but since I got it free (2nd hand from previous use by niece) from sis, no complaints. As long as my boy isn't dressed in PINK, I can still accept lah!!!

Ban Mian Addiction

Did I ever mention that Yun Yi is "addicted" to ban mian?? You know, the kind of handmade noodles with rich soup filled with minced pork, vegetables and an egg? Everytime we go to a foodcourt which she has been to before, she will ask for her favourite ban mian!!! In case you lost souls still have no idea what I am talking about, this is what the subject in topic looks like.

I am soooooo simply sick and tired of this ban mian addiction. You know why?? Cos she can never finish the whole BIG bowl on her own, therefore either me or er daddy will have to clear up the rest for her. The mere sight of it now makes me feel sick. Literally. It sends shivers down my spine.

But Yun Yi never gets tired of it and enjoys it everytime as if it's her first. Oh yes....... she's getting better with the use of chopsticks as well. Though a little bit clumsy with it lah and when she's using it with noodles, it spatters everywhere.

Look what a great poser she is. Ask her to demonstrate her chopstick skills, this is what I get. A great pose like a professional host for a food program. Who knows?? Maybe 15 years later it will be the case!!!

Bedtime Bonding

Spent sometime with the 2 kids yesterday night before their bedtime for some goofing around and phototaking.

One of the rare photos which caught Yong Ye smiling away!! Look at my little girl...... 5 years ago she was just this small little tiny wailing baby just like her brother. 5 years of milk, food, love, time and patience later......this is the outcome. And now, the whole process starts all over again!!!
Tried letting the maid cook yesterday evening and it didn't turn out as bad as I expected. She nows how to cook rice liao.....duh!! And she could cook one dish chicken with french beans in dark sauce. All in one!! Didn't taste too bad except that it was a tad too oily. Have told her to go easy on the oil. Will try again tonight!!! Do not give up, there is still hope.

Maid Woes

My maid is finally here. Fetched her from the agency yesterday evening. She seems alright, well normal at least. Has loads of initiative for the first day (the night she arrived at my place) as she proceeds to take down the clothes to fold, cleaned the cooking stove and even asked my what time should she bathe the baby everyday without being prompted at all.

This morning as I woke up at 5.30am in the morning to make milk for boi boi, she was already awake and wiping here wiping there. By the time we all woke up at 7am, hubby realised the alter has been wiped. Aiyoh.....quickly told her the alter no need her to wipe and hubby will clean it himself. TOO much initiative!! So far she has fed baby twice liao and also can handle making milk for him. Will test her bathing skills later once boi boi wakes up from his deep slumber.

There is only one problem though. She say she can't cook!!! Yes, I know her bio-data says she is only fair at cooking and we chose her because she could handle infants. But really TOTALLY cannot cook meh?? I dunno, probably she's just like me. But I went ahead to buy vegetables and meat from the supermarket and will see if she is really totally incompetent in cooking.

Wah, if she really cannot make it in the kitchen, I die liao lor. I can't cook to save my life, let alone teach her how to cook. I am totally stressed out. But I did ask her if she could read English and she said yes. So will probably go shop for those cookbooks which features simple dishes with simple English instructions. Anyone wanna volunteer to help me teach her how to cook??

Brought boi boi to polyclinic for his Hep B second dose jab this morning. So much easier when there is an extra pair of hands. She was carrying him while I had my hands free to to the registration etc......... And guess what, polyclinic has this dietician standing right in front of the immunisation rooms to talk about healthy eating for babies.

See the nice lady standing there patiently explaining to all the lost parents on how/what to prepare for baby's daily meals once they start eating solid foods when they turn 6 months. Needless to say, all of the mums there were paying full attention to her every word.

Yong Ye is exactly one month old today and his weight now is 4.8kg!! Well above average and within the normal range. Nice to know that he's growing well.
