Ugly Ugly Singaporeans

Met my mama for lunch today at Toa Payoh before proceeding to Orchard to window shop. I very good girl leh, didn't take a single trip of taxi today. Depended on our very well developed public transport system to make my way around our lovely island.

But unfortunately, the people living on this island isn't very lovely. Managed to get a seat on the MRT while making my way to Toa Payoh but wasn't as lucky on my way back from Orchard.




Mind you, I was standing right in front of the seat which has the "Please offer this seat to someone who needs it more than you do" sign right above it. Guess who was sitting on the seat?? It was a man in his mid twenties who was oblivious to my bulging stomach staring at him in his screwed up face!!! Damn it, stupid bastard!!! I was even wearing that shirt of mine which has "akan datang" printed right on my belly.

Aye hello man, please lor. I obviously do not see you being handicapped, nor old, nor pregnant (unless I cannot differentiate between a man and a woman), nor with a child or even a child for that matter. Didn't your mum teach you that you should give up your seat to someone who needs it more than you do?? Someone like me!!!

People have no idea of the agony we preggie women go through during the whole nine months. I can understand if the lady is only showing a little of her stomach during the initial stages of her pregnancy and you wouldn't wanna risk mistaking her for being pregnant when she is probably just fat or bloated from PMS. But hey, I am in my final stage and almost about to give birth anytime!!!! Don't tell me you are so blind as to miss that??!!

I pray that no one will give up their seats to this man's wife (if he ever can get someone to marry someone as inconsiderate and blind as him) when she's pregnant with his child!! Call me heartless, but I don't care. What goes around comes around and I deeply believe in this. Since he can never get pregnant and will never get to experience pregnancy, retribution will befall onto his wife, sister and his daughter!!! Just watch it.

At a tender age of 5, my daughter knows that it is just nice and courteous to give up your seat to an old man or a pregnant woman. But try telling that to those people who just happen to fall asleep the minute they spot a potential "someone who needs it more than you do". How convenient and easy!!! Rot in hell!!!

Ok, now that I am feeling a little better after pouring out my grievances, let me share with you guys this!!!



Was doing my grocery shopping at Cold Storage in Causeway Point after dinner today when I stumbled upon this!!! Was really impressed, honestly. Where to find a better location for advertising materials to be displayed??? This Oral-B sign was encircled around the price display unit at the check-out counter. Well done man!! I mean, you'll have no choice but to see the price you need to pay at the end of the transaction right? And if you are like us, we will be practically staring at it the whole time to make sure that the prices of every single merchandise is as what we saw on the price tags. And that's a whole 2-3 minutes of uninterrupted attention with your product or advertising message staring right back at us. Bravo!! But I think the supplier probably paid an arm and a leg for this. Hahaha..... another good idea to earn money for the retailers.

Tell you guys something, my colleague (Eileen) who has given birth sometime back is celebrating her baby girl's first month this coming Thursday!! Her EDD was actually 2 days earlier than me but had an emergency c-section because she had food poisoning and the babby was in distress. Anyway, my point is, she is already celebrating her little gir's first month and I am still here WAITING!!! Oh my god!! I cannot believe this!! I will hit my EDD in 6 more days and yet still no sign of action. Will be seeing my doc tomorrow early in the morning and I have this feeling that he's going to schedule me for an induced labour sometime next week if I have yet to pop by then. Not very keen on the idea though cos induced labour usually stretches pretty long and your waterbag will also be manually broken. And there will also be a higher chance for needing a c-section at the end of the day of labour doesn't progress well. But I am keeping my fingers crossed though.

Yes, it's my ah lao's birthday today and he is officially 31 years old!!! Not young liao lor... hahaha....

Gave him his birthday pressie yesterday night at the stroke of midnight and well his usual calm reaction to everything persists. No sign of excitement nor dissapointment. Hard to decipher his feelings but he said he likes it wor. Duh.

Oh no, I didn't go into labour today. So confirm boi boi won't be sharing the same birthday as daddy.

Will be going out to dinner later together with girl girl but will probably just eat at one of the restaurants at Causeway Point. Now waiting at home for girl girl to come home from school and her Ah Yee will bring her over. Uncle is now at sis place, so he's also popping by together with them to take a look at our new place.

Home Alone

I have rediscovered the beauty of spending time with just myself. Have been on leave since last Friday and have been spending a lot of alone time with myself.

Went to Causeway Point yesterday and had Swensen's for lunch followed by an afternoon movie (Flight Plan). Shopped around leisurely without having to jostle with the weekend crowd and even managed to get hubby his birthday pressie.

It somehow felt nostalgic when I was having my chicken baked rice yesterday. It brought back loads of memories. Memories of the many times me and hubby had dinner at the Swensen's at Liang Court many many years back. Well, sweet memories nonetheless. As sweet as all the sundaes we shared together and the after dinner walks along Clark Quay.

Was very indecisive when it came to his 31st birthday pressie. The only thing he wanted (besides more money of course) was a plasma TV.



And as you can see, we've already got that in our new place. But no, hell I am not watching porn alone at home while taking this picture!!! Hahaha.... That's "Sex And The City" on the screen and I am currently halfway through season 2 liao. Don't get too excited yeah......

Ok, back to what I was saying, the birthday present. After much consideration, I finally figured I would get him something material. What else did this man of mine love besides cold hard cash?? That would be cold hard gold!!! A Rolex would make a prefect gift for him as well, but unfortunately, I can't afford it!!! So here I am, a modern new age woman sashayed into Poh Heng and got him this.......



Yes, I know.... very cheena right?? But hey, gold is always good as you can always trade in for new designs or pawn it away during times of need. It's a gold chain (which is quite obvious, I know) and a rectangular pendant with the carving of a tiger which is his zodiac sign. Not cheap ok..... I am not going to reveal the exact price tag here cos he might be reading this and I dun want him to nag at me for spending so much money!! Well, guess it's not alot since this is a combination present for his birthday as well as our 6th wedding anniversary which will fall on 17th November. I figured since I would be in confinement then and wouldn't have a chance to go shopping for a present for him, it makes perfect sense to get him something big. Anyway, I am really broke now after buying his present so I am just gonna stay home and rot in the meantime.

Will be attending a wedding dinner of a colleague of mine tonight at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel. I love attending weddings even though it always makes me wanna cry. Isn't heart warming to see couples in love tying the knot and pledging their lives together?? Till death do us part....... it's always such a fairytale.



Yes, I only have 9 more days to go before my EDD and I am still not showing signs of labour!!!! Arrrghhhhh..... getting harder and harder to sleep comfortably at night due to the size of my stomach. Unless I go into labour tonight or tomorrow, hopes of boi boi sharing the same birthday as papa is slim liao. Maybe it will be the same case as girl girl. Her birthday is 2 days away from mine, so maybe boi boi will be out 2 days after papa's birthday. Fair and square mah.

Swollen Feet

Aiyoh, my feet is swelling up becos of water retention leh!!!! Have been drinking alot of water trying to prevent liao but still kena.

And eeeks!!!! This is what it is looking right now. Boo hoo....... I can't help but think of pig trotters whenever I look at my ugly feet. Feet feels so tight just like a plastic bag being stretched. Old people say once your feet start swelling, means baby coming out soon wor. Well, whatever it is, I am prepared liao. Going to the doctor this Saturday and hopefully will get an indication of when baby will be out.

Hubby's birthday is around the corner and I have yet to decide what to get him!!?!?? How ah?? Really have no idea what to get him leh. He said I no need to buy him anything wor, but a birthday without present, where can?? If I don't get him anything, means next time my birthday he can also do without a pressie for me lah?? Cannot like that!! Hahaha.......

Was actually thinking of getting him a shaver since the current one he's using was from his ex-girlfriend. Oh yes, that must have dated at least 10 years ago!! Somehow, giving a shaver for your lover's birthday doesn't seem very romantic leh. But at least he is reminded of you every morning when he goes "Bbzzzbzbbzzzzzz" while shaving lor.

My Little Artist

My dear little girl drew me another one of her masterpieces yesterday. Ta da!!!!















I noticed that she never draws herself between her daddy and me but always beside one of us. Guess it shows that she sees us both as a pair and very much in love??? Hahaha......





















Hubby finally put up the blinds which girl girl chose herself on her room entrance. Shouldn't have let her choose this cos it comes with the hairy hairy bits which tends to fall off. The totally platic ones would probably have worked better. Well anyway, it's up so we'll just bear with it for the time being till it gets dirty or spoilt before we change it. Very nice hor?? Was telling hubby, if I were to request to have this hanging outside my room when I was a little girl, my papa would probably just ignore me!




I know I promised to post pictures of my new place, but I want to keep it a mystery leh. Otherwise during my house warming, nothing new liao!!! So too bad, will do that AFTER my house warming. Anyway, above is the picture of my $268 water feature. Spent so much time searching for one which doesn't look too cheena and we finally got this at a relatively cheap price (compared to others we saw) and also quite nice looking.




Jennifer just came back from her trip to Turkey and bought this cute little pink guy back for girl girl. Sorry for the poor quality pictures though........ I promise I shall improve on that. According to Jennifer, Turkey was really boring!!! Was pretty dissapointed cos Turkey was one of the places which I would love to visit one day. Guess it's out of the list now. She said all she saw were rocks, ruins, more ruined rocks and more ruins made of rocks. Duh.....

Oh yes, I know I am due in 15 days. Why am I still here??? If boy boy is born next week, there's a chance he might share the same birthday as his papa. But either way, both their birthdays will be pretty near to each other lor. We very good in planning hor actually?? Girl girl's birthday is only 2 days away from mine and now this time also like that. I have finished packing my hospital bag, finally!!!! All set, just waiting and waiting now. I will be on leave from Friday and tomorrow will be my last day at work liao. So these 2 days in office wayang wayang cos nothing for me to do liao.
